Sure, nail stamping has created a way to get simple and intricate nail art, but what if you want the power to have whatever design you want, and complete control over colors and when they changed in designs?<br />
<br />
Well I have found a way to create nail art that can easily be fixed if you make a mistake, without ruining the based color of your manicure.<br />
<br />
But first I have to tell you that I did NOT invent this idea, I have come across it in my own nail art adventures.<br />
<br />
So how do I create nail art that is no big deal if I mess up? Acrylic paint.<br />
<br />
Once you have your base coat and color done (and it is completely dry) you can pull out your nail art brush and acrylic paints.<br />
<br />
The best part about this is that when a line is smudged or you just don't like the placement, you can take a little bit of water, and wash away the acrylic without messing up the base polish. You can also use a cotton bud and water to wash away a small part of the design.<br />
<br />
Now even the clumsiest of people (aka ME) can create cool nail designs.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00856794352852673259noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5827791815351047013.post-49700723340111210232016-05-25T11:49:00.003-07:002016-05-25T11:49:39.876-07:00Life Becoming a Video Game (Weight loss Entry)So, I've been away for a year, and sadly, most of that year has been spent away from the computer. Why? Well, Senior year in college can be tough. Most of my time has been spent with books, messy buns with pens in them, stacks of post it flags, and those weird highlighter stains on my fingers.<br />
<br />
Along with a lifetime of poor habits, this past year of sitting stooped over the kitchen table with theorists has created the perfect starting picture for a miracle weight loss advert. Sadly, I'm real and we can't immediately flash ahead to me holding out the waistband of my former pants as show off how I can swim in them. <br />
<br />
What I can do is be real with you... I am over weight. By a lot. My eating habits are terrible, and I am quick to find an excuse to miss out on a gym day- even though I know I always feel better after I leave the gym. But in an effort to turn my life around and feel comfortable in my own skin, I have decided to kick my butt into gear, or at least get in moving.<br />
<br />
In an effort to see what I am doing, and track progress, I bought a FitBit Flex. Here's the deal, when I can't see the work I am doing, I am fast to stop it. The Flex allows me to monitor my activity, and create small wins for myself. I can see when I have been more active lately, even if my outward appearance doesn't show my progress.<br />
<br />
This is NOT an ad for FitBit or the Flex. I bought it with my own money (why would anyone sponsor me, I am an unkown :) )<br />
<br />
I like that there are badges and goals that I can set for myself. It reminds me of unlocking achievements in video games. Step goals, hourly activity goals, calorie goals, water drinking goals, etc. - complete with badges and the ability to compete with friends.<br />
<br />
Let me know if you have a FitBit and want to add me as a friend to compete!<br />
<br />
It is my goal to keep you updated on my journey to a healthier me. (If you're interested that is.)<br />
Feel free to share your stories with me!!!!<br />

The problem I often come across is keeping my lashes clean and organized in between uses. With single packs of lashes you have the option to keep the lashes in the packaging, but when you buy multi packs like the ones sold by <a href="http://www.ardelllashes.com/Lashes/product_204.html" target="_blank">Ardell</a>, it is harder to keep the lashes organized in between uses.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-pGQco6_ld9U/VZHb-vdjWBI/AAAAAAAAASU/rzViniUjm-U/s1600/lashes.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-pGQco6_ld9U/VZHb-vdjWBI/AAAAAAAAASU/rzViniUjm-U/s320/lashes.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The idea I am about to share with you is not one that I have come up with, though I would love to be able to take the credit. When I saw this idea, I thought it was absolutely amazing and I knew that I had to share it:</div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
A pill organizer!</div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-uqn-G4VE-Eg/VZHejaxgURI/AAAAAAAAASg/zebG6nqL3a8/s1600/download.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-uqn-G4VE-Eg/VZHejaxgURI/AAAAAAAAASg/zebG6nqL3a8/s1600/download.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-AwtNMj2iEk0/VZHelyy1yqI/AAAAAAAAASo/iQ6AO2wNEOA/s1600/317.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-AwtNMj2iEk0/VZHelyy1yqI/AAAAAAAAASo/iQ6AO2wNEOA/s1600/317.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
You can put your lashes in the compartments by pair, or one strip per compartment. If you choose the second option, I recommend that you use tape or a maker to label which compartments go with each other. If you are going on a trip and don't feel like packing a bigger pill organizer you can always opt for an individual day or two sized pill organizer. This option is probably better for short trips or if you don't have tons of different lashes you rotate through. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-YIcpidog5SY/VZHfpLFRosI/AAAAAAAAASw/9cVqJfd4xvs/s1600/639_large_image.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="232" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-YIcpidog5SY/VZHfpLFRosI/AAAAAAAAASw/9cVqJfd4xvs/s320/639_large_image.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I have seen organizers specifically meant to organize false lashes on the market, but I find these pill organizers to be a better option because they are in so many stores and really cheap (I bought mine for 98cents!). </div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
How do you keep your falsies organized? </div>

So when I saw this palette my hands tossed it in my basket
before my brain registered what I had even grabbed. I use my Maybelline The
Nudes Palette at least 3 or 4 times a week so I had to pick this one up.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
The first thing I noticed was its striking similarity to
Urban Decay’s Naked 3 Palette. Perhaps you will agree with me:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-GxQzXDJbqng/VRTFiTdr3EI/AAAAAAAAARk/f8GKmHOUXGk/s1600/photo%2B(3).JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-GxQzXDJbqng/VRTFiTdr3EI/AAAAAAAAARk/f8GKmHOUXGk/s1600/photo%2B(3).JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
So yeah, if you had your eye on Naked 3, but don’t want to
(or can’t) spend the fifty something dollars, for around ten you can have this
palette. Here are swatches of The Blushed Nudes:</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-10_5zA-gRjk/VRTE2Ea1kUI/AAAAAAAAARY/IZv8hpgB_JA/s1600/photo%2B1.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-10_5zA-gRjk/VRTE2Ea1kUI/AAAAAAAAARY/IZv8hpgB_JA/s1600/photo%2B1.JPG" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
And just for fun, here are swatches from Naked 3:</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-vaPuMlwcXyg/VRTE189GmBI/AAAAAAAAARM/Tz0TjJzEsJ0/s1600/photo%2B2.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-vaPuMlwcXyg/VRTE189GmBI/AAAAAAAAARM/Tz0TjJzEsJ0/s1600/photo%2B2.JPG" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
The verdict:</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
Blushed Nudes is a really good palette. The shadows are soft
and blend well. I’m definitely glad that I go it. I do believe that it is comparable
to the Naked 3, the biggest difference is that Naked 3 is more pigmented. It
really all depends what you want to spend your money on when it comes to make
up. </div>
<br />
<div class="MsoNormal">
Personally, my Naked 3 is my favorite palette, so I can’t
imagine passing that up for the Maybelline. But I can’t deny the similarities. </div>

Spring…by the time it gets here I am more than ready for it.
Fall is my favorite season, but the beginning of Spring always gives me renewed
energy. It’s warm, but not too hot, and there is a sweet spot before my
allergies and bugs start to attack. </div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-LeDmmLbd-14/VQMWBUylVQI/AAAAAAAAAP4/c_-loYKyWok/s1600/aveenoshavegel.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-LeDmmLbd-14/VQMWBUylVQI/AAAAAAAAAP4/c_-loYKyWok/s1600/aveenoshavegel.jpg" height="320" width="320" /></a>Given the warming weather, capris, skirts, and shorts will
soon be able to come out of hiding. A while back, I wrote an article on <span style="color: #365f91;"><a href="http://makeupbybriakimber.blogspot.com/2014/05/how-to-make-your-shave-last.html" target="_blank">How to Make aShave Last</a></span>, and in that article I mentioned shaving lotion/gel that
helps slow down hair regrowth. So today, I will be providing you with a review
of the shaving gel I use for that purpose: <span style="color: #365f91;"><a href="http://www.aveeno.com/product/aveeno-+positively+smooth-+shave+gel+.do?sortby=ourPicks&page=2&from=fn" target="_blank">Aveeno Positively Smooth Shave Gel.</a></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
I purchased mine at Wal-Mart, though I imagine that this
shaving gel would be available in most stores that carry Aveeno. </div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
First off, let me talk about the scent. I know for some
people that can be a huge factor, so I will be addressing that first.
Personally, I love the scent; it reminds me of Amaretto Cookies. It is a fairly
strong scent, though once you rinse it off, I don’t notice it sticking around. </div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
Now, let’s talk about the gel. You don’t need that much, a
little bit of gel goes a long way. This is because as you rub it on your legs,
the gel lathers up and takes up a lot more space than it did when you first
dispense it from the can. </div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
Does it actually slow down regrowth? Now, I’m not going to
be scientific about this. From my experience, it does. I am not sure about the
formula and what about it slows the growing process, but I have noticed that I
get a few extra days before I need to shave again.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
To explain how big a deal this is, you’ll need to know about
my own “hairy” situation.. (I’m so sorry, but I had to do it.) If I shave in
the morning, by night time, I have decent amounts of stubble. And since I am
ghost pale, with really dark brown hair, it stands out. By the end of the next
day, the entire forest has grown back. When I use this (when I’m lazy and
don’t <span style="color: #365f91; mso-themecolor: accent1; mso-themeshade: 191;"><a href="http://makeupbybriakimber.blogspot.com/2014/05/exfoliating-for-beginners.html" target="_blank">exfoliate</a></span>)
I can get four days instead of one to two. If I’m not lazy, I can get five or
six days. After spending years of daily to every other day shaving, I never
thought that I would be able to go 4-6 days without shaving.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
I absolutely love this shaving gel. </div>
<br />
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
As far as price goes, it is a drugstore product, so it is
affordable. It was about four dollars. From the </div>

out, it was towards the higher end, but if it works for you like it did for me,
you will a lot less, a whole lot less often. </div>

<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-zV5lg576_Mg/VPjzqDuUqoI/AAAAAAAAAPU/AvYlo5jzlq4/s1600/bb.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-zV5lg576_Mg/VPjzqDuUqoI/AAAAAAAAAPU/AvYlo5jzlq4/s1600/bb.jpg" height="320" width="320" /></a>So you have finally given in to the beauty blender craze ( I
know I resisted for a long time). You use <br />
the sponge, and no matter what your
feelings on the application, you are now left with a dirty makeup applicator
that needs to be cleaned. But how? You can’t just wipe it off, and there aren’t
any bristles like on a makeup brush.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">

Read on if you want to see how I clean my Beauty Blender.</div>

First, I must stress, that if you want your blender to stay
in good condition for as long as possible, you must be GENTLE. </div>

-Using water that is about room temperature, I run my beauty
blender under the faucet until it is damp. I then dip it into my clean mixture
and gently work it in. I do this by squeezing the beauty blender and running it
under the water. I continue gently
squeezing until I don’t see any more dish soap suds coming out of the sponge. I
continue dipping and rinsing and squeezing under the running water until I have
gotten all of the makeup off and out of the sponge. This will take time, but if
you are gentle, your sponge should come out pretty much like new when you are
done. At some point it is only natural for stains to occur, but you will know
your blender is clean when the water you squeeze out of the blender is consistently
clear. </div>

<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-jlfCRBTKAcw/VMAV7_U_VKI/AAAAAAAAAO8/OLKqAjG6OAA/s1600/browdrama.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-jlfCRBTKAcw/VMAV7_U_VKI/AAAAAAAAAO8/OLKqAjG6OAA/s1600/browdrama.jpg" height="320" width="294" /></a>It took some doing, but I was finally able track down a<a href="http://www.maybelline.com/Products/Eye-Makeup/Brow/Eyestudio-Brow-Drama.aspx" target="_blank"> BrowDrama</a> in my shade: Deep Brown. </div>
Multiple stores that I went to had clearly been
picked over, with only a few blondes left.
After having a few days to play with it, I have come up with an opinion
that will hopefully help some of you make your own decision. <br />
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
Overall, I like the product, and at around six dollars, it’s
a good buy. I knew I had to try it to see if it was a drugstore type dupe of
<a href="https://www.benefitcosmetics.com/product/view/gimme-brow" target="_blank">Benefit’s Gimme Brow</a>. Admittedly, I have not tried the Gimme Brow, because I
can’t justify the price when I already have a brow routine that I love. </div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
The colors that are available are deep brown, soft brown, auburn,
blonde, and clear. As I mentioned above, the shade I chose is deep brown and is
pretty much an exact match with my brow hairs. </div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
I recommend using a light hand so that you don’t
accidentally get the colored gel on your skin- especially if you already have
your foundation done. </div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
My one complaint with this product is that applicator: the
round bubble end of the want makes it difficult to get the tail end of your
brows. If the entire wand was the thinner size, I feel as though I would have
the control I desire when working on my brows. </div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
I was lucky to find such a good match to my natural brows,
but if you don’t match one of the colors, at least there is the clear gel so
you can get the grooming and brow control. </div>
<br />
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
I have decided that I like using this gel for a light,
groomed look. After using this product, my brows look neat and groomed, but not
like I have makeup in them or that they are all done up. Perfect for a day with
minimal makeup or for anyone who is uncomfortable full on filling in your
brows: I know I didn’t always like the look of fully filled in brows.</div>

While I am a big fan of "wear whatever makes you feel great no matter the trends", I figured I would still take a look at Marsala.<br />
<br />
The best way I have heard Marsala explained is as an earthy red. Last year's color, Radiant Orchid, was a lot easier to pin down. Ever since Marsala's debut I have seen many variations of the shade. But since Pantone is the one who chose the color, I'm going to stick with the swatch they supplied:<br />

Ideas of how to wear Marsala:<br />
If you want to add Marsala into your makeup look there are two ways to add it into a look without being overbearing, and everyone can do it, even if they aren't super skilled in makeup, or their schedule doesn't allow for lots of makeup time.<br />
<br />
1. Pop of Marsala: Use a little bit of a marsala shade into your crease.<br />
2. Lipstick statement: Keep your eyes simple with just some mascara and eyeliner and use a marsala lipstick as a quick and trendy statement.<br />
3. Marsala manicure<br />
<br />
Do you plan on giving this color a try?<br />

That said, I know that this highlight is now going to be everyone's (please forgive the cliche) cup of tea. Without further ado, I will talk about the properties of this product so that you can decide for yourself.<div><br></div><div>If you do decide to head in the direction of this product, please use a light hand, unless that is the look you are going for. This product is very pigmented, so a little goes a long way. With a light hand, I can get a nice glow going. With a medium hand, I can easily become a disco ball. And with any more pressure than that, this highlight becomes an opaque pearly white later of pigment. When I first swatched it, I saw the intense pearl pigment and got nervous. I'm so glad I stuck it out though, because I love it. It's kind of like a build able highlight. From subtle to editorial- whatever you decide. I love that versatility. </div><div><br></div><div>The only thing that I think will put some people off is that there is some glitter/sparkle to it. With a light hand it is subtle, but if you aren't careful it can look like you dumped glitter on your face. <div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-65DHR3o6Xdo/VLL68jlO7sI/AAAAAAAAAM4/nIAvZMvizM4/s640/blogger-image-861012981.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-65DHR3o6Xdo/VLL68jlO7sI/AAAAAAAAAM4/nIAvZMvizM4/s640/blogger-image-861012981.jpg"></a><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-65DHR3o6Xdo/VLL68jlO7sI/AAAAAAAAAM4/nIAvZMvizM4/s640/blogger-image-861012981.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"></a><a href="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-JxKguy0Tkq4/VLL68NN_p2I/AAAAAAAAAMw/oKsSPSEMfIM/s640/blogger-image-1594086654.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-JxKguy0Tkq4/VLL68NN_p2I/AAAAAAAAAMw/oKsSPSEMfIM/s640/blogger-image-1594086654.jpg"></a></div></div></div>Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00856794352852673259noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5827791815351047013.post-60854301351575347692014-06-06T20:06:00.000-07:002014-06-06T20:09:25.602-07:00Should I Switch Up to a Sulfate Free Shampoo?So you've heard the hype about how much better sulfate free shampoos are for your hair. At first only higher end brands made sulfate free shampoos, which meant your wallet health weakened so your hair could get stronger. But now even drugstore brands are starting to offer the sans-sulfate option. So what should you do? While that choice is ultimately yours, I can offer you my experiences to help you make your decision.<br />
<br />
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-TSjy_7EKT8w/U5J9OSpm3ZI/AAAAAAAAALg/LQhS0IKXM8Q/s1600/6985AB12-BFF8-4477-9E38D7BA35CD0DE4_medium.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-TSjy_7EKT8w/U5J9OSpm3ZI/AAAAAAAAALg/LQhS0IKXM8Q/s1600/6985AB12-BFF8-4477-9E38D7BA35CD0DE4_medium.jpg" height="200" width="200" /></a>If regular shampoos seem too harsh for your hair, you may want to seriously consider switching. Most shampoos are good at cleaning hair, but they aren't gentle about it. Many of the cleaning agents used in shampoos strip your hair of the natural goodness it needs. This can make hair dry, weak, and brittle- giving it an overall unhealthy look. A sulfate free shampoo helps ease up the stress your hair takes during cleansing.<br />
<br />
<i>NOTE: sometimes dry brittle hair can be a symptom of a medical condition, so please keep track of your symptoms and speak with a doctor.</i><br />
<br />
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-BH_ndBTOrqM/U5J-duLS7VI/AAAAAAAAALs/4fixVkiIt2E/s1600/download+(3).jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-BH_ndBTOrqM/U5J-duLS7VI/AAAAAAAAALs/4fixVkiIt2E/s1600/download+(3).jpg" /></a>If your hair has been put through the ringer, it may also be a good idea to switch up just to give your hair a break somewhere. Harsh hair styles, hairsprays, hot tools, teasing... it all really takes a toll on the fragile strands of hair. If you have a nice damage repairing shampoo that works for your hair, there may be no need to switch up what you are doing.<br />
<br />
Of course, you should always use a heat protectant to help prevent the damage in the first place.<br />
<br />
A moisturizing shampoo may help your hair situation. It is my experience that moisturizing shampoos don't dry my hair out, but they also don't add any moisturizing benefits. (I believe this is because the moisturizing properties are<br />
cancelled out by the harsh detergents that they share a shampoo bottle with.) I have notice moisturizing and sulfate free shampoos do improve the softness of my hair.<br />
<br />
So if you have weak or dry hair, I recommend the switch. Personally, I have had an amazing experience after making the switch. Spending a few extra bucks per bottle is more than worth it. I have been experimenting with which sulfate free shampoo/conditioning pair that I like best. But I have loved each type that I have tried, something that I cannot say about standard shampoos. My hair is so much healthier than it used to be, and every time that I have to use regular shampoo again, I feel a little pang of guilt towards my hair.<br />

<br />
So in my last post I spoke about exfoliating. This got me thinking about shaving. Whenever the stubble decides to reveal itself (which is annoyingly often), a little part of me groans and thinks, "ugh not again." At this point some of you might be thinking, "why doesn't she just get a wax?" Well, I am a very busy person who doesn't want to put the time, money, or pain into waxing. So if you are like me and are simply looking to get the most out of each shave, let me share with you some things that I have learned along the way.<br />
<br />
1. Exfoliate. By getting all of the dead skin out of the way, your razor can get closer to the root of your hair, giving you a smoother shave. If you aren't quite sure about exfoliating, my previous post goes over the basics. If you're really in a pinch, just wash your legs with a loofah.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-PqPsZlQIgGg/U4J_8ykedTI/AAAAAAAAALA/x_56S3SbY7c/s1600/exfoliating.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-PqPsZlQIgGg/U4J_8ykedTI/AAAAAAAAALA/x_56S3SbY7c/s1600/exfoliating.jpg" height="320" width="218" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
2. Shave gel/lotion. I have yet to be able to get my hands on it, but Noxzema makes a shave gel that has helped to extend the period between shaves. So if you can find it in any brand, I suggest finding a hair minimizing/ shave extending shave gel. The one that I use is <a href="http://makeupbybriakimber.blogspot.com/2015/03/aveeno-positively-smooth-shave-gel.html" target="_blank">Aveeno Positively Smooth Shave Gel</a>, and I absolutely love it.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-HU_Scdz-JIE/U4J-eBiUgPI/AAAAAAAAAKs/AvgpgLpspYo/s1600/images+%25283%2529.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-HU_Scdz-JIE/U4J-eBiUgPI/AAAAAAAAAKs/AvgpgLpspYo/s1600/images+%25283%2529.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
3. Keep your razor clean. The better you take care of your razor, the longer it will give you a good performance. Dull or nicked razors will not only be uncomfortable, but will also not give a good close shave.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Z-7DwdgM6vQ/U4KA9uPUQFI/AAAAAAAAALE/nDu7Q-odc2o/s1600/man-get-best-shave-2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Z-7DwdgM6vQ/U4KA9uPUQFI/AAAAAAAAALE/nDu7Q-odc2o/s1600/man-get-best-shave-2.jpg" height="213" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
*If you use an electric razor, still exfoliate, it will help you get a closer shave as well.<br />
<br />
Don't forget to moisturize when you are done. Your legs will thank you. And while to some these may seem like simple steps, when I was first shaving I certainly didn't follow them. I had no idea what exfoliating was and I never moisturized after. It got to the point where if I shaved in the morning, I would feel like I needed to again that night. By employing these steps I can now go about 2- 3 days between shaves.<br />

<br />
If you are thinking of self-tanning or just want to get a closer shave, exfoliating is an essential step. Exfoliating gets all of the dead skin cells off and leaves you with a smooth skin surface. So how might one go about exfoliating? Body scrubs are the way to go and there a few types to choose from. These vary from the kind you find in jars that are very grainy to body wash styled mixtures that are much more lotion than grain.<br />
So how to choose?<br />
<br />
More Grain the Lotion: This scrub takes a bit more effort, though it is still fairly low maintenance. Just be careful if you have sensitive skin when you are shopping. Smaller grains are more likely to work with sensitive skin. Though if your skin is very sensitive, you may want to go with the more lotion filled kind of exfoliator.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-gxVx3j_3fEQ/U35CNzNkU5I/AAAAAAAAAJo/ZA7UlZACEDM/s1600/images+(2).jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-gxVx3j_3fEQ/U35CNzNkU5I/AAAAAAAAAJo/ZA7UlZACEDM/s1600/images+(2).jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
More Lotion than Grain: This can still be extremely grainy, but varies from the first style. This style is easier to spread and apply because there is also the lotion mixed in. Of course, typically the lotion consistency is made up of body wash and possibly oils for moisturizing.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-lDmYfuTcnGQ/U35CXn_0lII/AAAAAAAAAJw/59P-LiMYDzE/s1600/soy-lotion-isolated-on-white.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-lDmYfuTcnGQ/U35CXn_0lII/AAAAAAAAAJw/59P-LiMYDzE/s1600/soy-lotion-isolated-on-white.jpg" height="320" width="317" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
A Lot More Lotion than Grain: This style is typically a body wash infused with exfoliators like micro beads or other more natural ingredients. This is the most low maintenance style because it happens as you wash off in the shower. This type is also usually the most delicate for those who have sensitive skin.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-gIldMUe7EwY/U35CfVW3fAI/AAAAAAAAAJ4/n0PTfbgl0MY/s1600/olay-exfoliator_300.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-gIldMUe7EwY/U35CfVW3fAI/AAAAAAAAAJ4/n0PTfbgl0MY/s1600/olay-exfoliator_300.jpg" height="320" width="268" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
The exfoliator that I personally have been loving for the last handful of months is Skin Below The Chin's Vanilla Body Scrub that contains Moroccan Argan Oil. It is of the body wash variety, but is very densely packed with exfoliators.<br />

This can<br />
be particularly annoying because of how the product is built: you need the sponge tip to be able to use the product.While I cannot help you once your sponge has come off, I do have some advice about preventing it from ever breaking:<br />
<br />
<b>-Tap Don't Swipe:</b> When applying the product it is easy to want to swipe the sponge across the areas that need the concealing. Try to avoid this. Just tap and dot on the product, this puts less strain on the sponge tip. The swiping motion can pull at the sponge and cause it to fall off.<br />
<br />
<b>-Be gentle:</b> If you do feel the need to swipe the product on if you are using it as a highlight or covering a large area, be gentle. Applying minimal pressure will also help to lessen the strange on these sponges.<br />
<br />
I have been using my particular Age Rewind for a few months now and I have had no troubles with my sponge tip, so if you find that you like the formula, but are having issues with the packaging, try tapping on the product.<br />

I have finally decided to get serious about blogging so that I have another platform to use so that I can share my information. Currently I share information with fellow makeup lovers through my <a href="http://www.youtube.com/user/briakimbermua" target="_blank">Youtube</a> channel. If you have stumbled across this blog, please stick around for what's to come. I plan on bringing you reviews and tutorials and anything else that has to do with makeup that I can share with you.<br />
<br />
So why stay tuned to this blog and listen/read this person's opinions? What makes her worth listening to? Well, my reader, let me tell you... and I promise I am not doing this to brag:<br />
I have lots of experience playing around with makeup. From junior high on my allowance has jumped right out of my pockets and into the hands of the makeup companies. Even now, past the age of allowance, I'm still losing my money to that magnetic force. Although now that money isn't just a hobby. I am currently getting certified as a makeup artist. So while my opinions are not the end all be all, pure fact, right way to do things, I feel that you will value what I have to say. Most of makeup is mastered through trial and error, and I am going to share with you my trial and error so that you can learn from my mistakes and whatnot.<br />
<br />
So until this blog gets up and running, please take a look at my youtube channel to see some work that I have done and reviews that I have uploaded.<br />
